Winston Churchill and Mark Twain share a birthdate. Mark Twain was born November 30, 1835 (and died 4/21/1910); Winston Churchill was born November 30, 1874 (and died 1/24/1965).
Why am I bringing this up? Twain and Churchill were among the bright and committed people who saw the wisdom of the ideas of Henry George.
Mark Twain wrote two pieces: Slavery and Archimedes. In 1909, Winston Churchill, married the year before to Clementine, and 9 years after his election to the House of Commons, gave a series of speeches which were collected and digested into a book called The People's Rights as part of a campaign. I commend all three documents to your attention, and suggest that they are still pithy comments on what we see around us.
And they weren't the only wise ones to see the wisdom of HG's ideas. See also Quotable Notables.
